Panther Night At The Patch

Posted in Dean Thomas, Friends, Work events at 10:04 am by winz

Last night was CHHS faculty night at Hall’s Pumpkin Patch. We enjoy making Halls an annual event and had a great time this year with our school friends. Dean LOVED the freedom of being able to run around the patch. He played on tractors, pushed wagons, made multiple trips down the slide, and munched on kettle corn. It was a fun evening for our little fire fighter!

My First Facial!

Posted in Ft. Worth Life, Work events at 6:56 pm by winz

Tuesday was an early release day for CHHS. Because we had a few student free hours Martha, our lead counselor, arranged for us to go tour Paul Mitchell Beauty School. Along with our school tour came one free service. After looking over the menu of services I chose a deluxe facial. It was wonderful! The estetician was so sweet. She took the time to answer my one million questions and encouraged me in my beauty routine. I loved everything about the experience and can’t wait to go back and do it again! A day of work well worth it!

Panther Pride Night 2011

Posted in Dean Thomas, Friends, Work events at 8:45 am by winz

The school year is off to an official start with the 1st pep rally of the year. We all had a great time cheering the Panther teams on to victory. Gavin and Dean managed to entertain the crowd and play with several friends during the event. Dean loved looking at Babs the Panther mascot, watching the dance teams and cheerleaders perform but most of all he liked rocking out to the drum line. My pictures were a hit and miss because of how fast the boys were moving. Go Panthers go!

Panther Homecoming 2009

Posted in Dean Thomas, Family Events, Friends, Work events at 7:58 pm by winz

It was a sea of Red, Black and white with cowbells ringing and mums blowing in the breeze. We celebrated homecoming this past week at CHHS. Dean was able to take advantage of the fun at the ECDC. The director, Molly, coordinated for the panther head tunnel, used at the football games, to be blown up in front of Dean’s school. She took the students outside and let them dress up in a football jersey and pose with a football. They told me that Dean has a great time chasing the “Ba” or ball around and wasn’t the least bit scared of the BIG panther head.

On Friday Matt, Dean and I participated in the faculty tail gate party and homecoming football game. We had a great time dining on the grass next to Mustang-Panther stadium. It was a BEAUTIFUL evening, the hotdogs and hamburgers were excellent, and we enjoyed the fun of football. Dean’s friend Gavin came over to hang out during the picnic and Matt and I were able to enjoy the company of my fellow counselor Leslie and her husband Wayne. Although Dean didn’t make it through the first quarter of the game, and we left early, we still had a great time rooting for the Panthers! We look forward to many more football games in our future! Until Then!

How I survived…

Posted in Work events at 4:55 pm by winz

My first two weeks back at work were pretty brutal. I am so glad the students are back! Here’s how I survived the THOUSANDS of schedule changes…

A little Diet Coke (with Caffeine) and lemon drops – Thanks Glenda for bringing me the good ones! Oh, and the reality check of my personal email every now and then.
