My parents came to visit last weekend for a quick 36 hours. Although their trip was short we were able to enjoy some great quality time. Dean loves having his grandparents in town and enjoyed all of the extra attention.
Saturday morning my mom, Glenda and I hit the town of Grapevine for a little bit of shopping. We had a great time trying on jewelry, buying items for craft activities and chatting. On Saturday afternoon we headed into Ft. Worth to take my parents to Coopers BBQ. Matt thought the authentic pit experience would be fun for my dad. We invited Kerry, Glenda and Bill to join us for lunch. It was so much fun and I am glad we all went to experience what Coopers has to offer. We made it back to the house just in time to watch the Aggie’s crushing loss to OSU but that’s another story… Mom and I drowned our sorrows in sewing and crafts (thanks Pintrest).
Thanks Mom and Dad for making the trip. We loved having you all to ourselves. We are already looking forward to your next visit. Until Then!
On Thursday I picked Dean up from school and took him back to the high school to watch the drum line rehearse. Dean loved seeing the students with their drums, hearing the xylophones, cymbals and guitars. He couldn’t get enough of the beats. I finally managed to coax him back to the car so we could begin our ride home. Dean certainly has a passion for music and he sure loves some drums!
While reading a blog I subscribe to I came across a post for this Aquaduck. Oh man is this a life changing tool. I ordered it immediately and couldn’t wait for Dean to use it. Dean is now a hand washing champ. He can easily access the water stream with or without his bathroom stool. It’s fantastic. If you have small children I highly recommend the aquaduck. It’s well worth the $13!
Tuesday was an early release day for CHHS. Because we had a few student free hours Martha, our lead counselor, arranged for us to go tour Paul Mitchell Beauty School. Along with our school tour came one free service. After looking over the menu of services I chose a deluxe facial. It was wonderful! The estetician was so sweet. She took the time to answer my one million questions and encouraged me in my beauty routine. I loved everything about the experience and can’t wait to go back and do it again! A day of work well worth it!
Our friends Jennifer and James invited us to spend Saturday evening at their house along with the McLaren family. I enjoy going to the DePetros because the kitchen is not connected to the family or play room. Because Miranda, Jennifer and I are usually preparing food or supporting Jennifer while she prepares food the child refereeing usually goes to the men. Its heavenly to have the opportunity to speak with women and drink a glass of wine. I’m already looking forward to our next evening social. Who’s hosting next? Until then!
