Matt’s 34th birthday was a wonderful weekend celebration! On Friday he enjoyed his last “Manly Friday” with Dean. They made a trip to the park and chick-fil-a. Their Friday favorites! That evening we celebrated Matt’s day with burgers, cake and ice cream. Dave and Gavin joined us for the evening of fun. They boys are all about cake and birthday celebrations which made it even more fun.
On Saturday evening Matt and I had the opportunity to not only celebrate his birthday but also his new position at KXAS. Dean was invited to spend the night with Glenda and Bill and Matt and I were free to enjoy an evening out. We saw “The Help” followed by a fabulous dinner at Trulucks! Oh man, was our dinner delicious!!! I highly recommend their hot house tomato salad. If you enjoy tomatoes this is heaven! Matt and I both ordered small steaks with different seafood pairings for our entrees. We enjoyed the live music, wine and amazing service. It was a wonderful end to a perfect date.
Happy 34th birthday baby! I am so proud of you and can’t wait to share this next year of your life!
Trophy Club has a new fire station. On Saturday afternoon they celebrated the grand opening with a party. Dean and Matt drove over to the station and enjoyed seeing the fire trucks, touring the fire station, eating lunch, and visiting with some “celebrities”. Dean had a blast and Matt won Father of the Year for attending the party in 100+ degree temps.
Jennifer and I sought refuge at the Jump Zone Sunday afternoon. Sophia and Dean enjoyed running, bouncing and having fun while Jennifer and I enjoyed chatting in the cool air. I’m a huge fan of indoor fun for kids; Dean has really enjoyed the chaotic fun.
Time out for the see saw. The only time they were remotely still!
Dean missed the start of his 2nd week of school, the real 1st day of school for other students, due to a stomach virus! Thankfully, Matt was able to take the day off and stay home with him. There was no way I could miss the first day of school…can you imagine the chaos? Dean was feeling much better on Monday morning when he woke up and enjoyed playing with his daddy all day. Evidently they pretend mowed, blew, and weeded the house about 8 times! The invisible grass in my living room must grow at an extraordinary rate!
Dean decided that he needed a purse to carry his phone and necklace. Matt was not at all happy about his choice to carry a purse. Dean LOVED the idea of HIS purse and carried it around (at home) all day. I’m sure it’s just a phase…
