Dean’s BFF Gavin celebrated his 2nd birthday with a trip to the zoo followed by a cake and candles party. The McLaren’s took Dean to the zoo while I got to stay home and enjoy a bit of time to myself (such a treat for me)! After they returned the boys napped and then we headed over for cake, candles, and gifts! We are so blessed to have such great friends and Dean is blessed to have such a good buddy! Dean has begun to udder a 3 letter word that breaks my heart. Mom. Every time he says it I think, “No!”. What happened to Mommy or Mama? Why do we have to get to the mom word so fast? It makes me think of teenagers with attitudes rather than sweet toddlers who need their boo boos kissed. My little guy is growing up way to fast!
I had the opportunity to have a Valentine’s date with my little Valentine this evening. By stealing the idea from a co-worker I decided to start a tradition of having a V-day date with my little man somewhere around the 14th. I know there will come a time that he will want to take other girls out on dates but my hope is that this tradition will live on and that we can always set aside a little one-on-one time around this day.
I surprised Dean after school with his favorite meal of all time – Chick-fil-a! The weather was so pretty I thought it would be nice to enjoy the meal at the park rather than in the restaurant. After A short drive to Parr Park our date began. We had a great time playing, eating and then playing some more. Dean was eager to show me all of the skills he has learned on his Friday park trips with Daddy. I think he’s turning into a bit of a dare devil. Aside from a few minor heart attacks he was the perfect Valentine date. Thanks Dean for making your Mommy so proud. I love you!
Dean received a second Valentine’s delivery this morning. It appears that Grandmother cupid did a little shopping while she was in town a few weeks ago and left a little something for Dean. Dean was less than thrilled to get up this morning but managed a complete 180 in his attitude once he saw his new tractor. As you can tell from the video he loved it! He has also enjoyed his new Valentine’s shirts! Thank you Grandmother and Papa!
Dean received a Valentine from his great grandparents. He had a great time opening his mail, taking out the card, and gushing over the bear. Granny & Pop, thanks for making our little guy so happy. He loves mail!
