Fat Tuesday Pancakes

Posted in Uncategorized at 7:37 pm by winz

Keeping with tradition Dean enjoyed his last glutenous meal before the Lenten season. On this Fat Tuesday a dinner of yummy chocolate chip pancakes were served. Obviously Dean LOVED them…I mean who wouldn’t! It’s not our typical dinner of lean proteins and veggies but every once in a while a boy needs a treat. Happy Mardi Gras y’all!

Thank you Emma Claire for my new guitar! I LOVE it! Maybe one day I will be a great musician like my Uncle Travis or Pops.

Snow One Will Keep Us From This Party

We made the trek to Houston, during a snow storm, to participate in a shower for Baby Mason. Dean was a trooper during the 6 hour car ride home. After arriving safely in Humble & enjoying a few hours of rest the fun began. Matt’s cousin Sharon, her daughter Alexy, and his Aunt Cheri were all in town for the weekend fun. We had a great time seeing them, playing with Alexy and catching up on several years of stories.

Saturday morning we “Sailed by” Lesley’s house for a shower honoring Genie. We had a great time preparing, decorating, and cooking yummy goodies for the mommy to be. The shower was a tremendous success. I think Mason could arrive tomorrow and have almost everything he needs.

The rest of the weekend was spent relaxing and enjoying the company of family. It was nice to have so many family members in town and to have the opportunity to enjoy their company for several days. As we said goodbye to Adam and Genie we came to the realization that the next time we saw them they would be parents! Wow! Mason will be here before we know it and we will finally be Aunt Lindsey & Uncle Matt to another wonderful blessing. We look forward to meeting you Mason Spencer! Until Then!

A 3rd Snow???

Posted in Uncategorized at 9:55 pm by winz

As a Valentine’s gift from Mother Nature North Texas was blessed with it’s 3rd snow storm. The snow began on Thursday night around 1 AM and did not stop until 5 AM Friday morning! When it was all said and done DFW airport (right by our house) reported 12.5 inches of snow! The snow fall was steady through out the day on Thursday resulting in an early release from school. The roads were not freezing as temps had not dropped but it was getting slushy and wet. After an afternoon nap Dean and I ventured outside for a quick minute. He enjoyed watching from a far but when I took him out in the snow he was less that pleased. Cold and wet is not a combination he favored.

Four days after the massive snowfall we still have little mounds of snow on the ground and in our backyard. It’s so weird for there to be snow lingering anywhere in Texas. What a wonderful treat to see so much snow. I was truly in awe and joked with Matt and I would need to update my winter wardrobe if the snow was going to be a regular occurrence.
