15 Month Check Up
We took Dean for his 15 month appointment this week. He was such a trooper during the LONG appointment. Dean loves his nurse Porshia but did not enjoy the game “let’s measure your head”. Porshia had to call in reinforcements to help with the measuring.
Dean was well behaved during his exam with Dr. McCoy. Although Dean has tubes it appears our ear troubles are not over. Dr. McCoy found puss behind both ears along with clogged tubes. Ugh! Another antibiotic for DT. We had some great discussion with the doctor about Dean’s walking, vitamins, discipline, and tooth brushing.
Dr. M encouraged us to wean Dean from his bottle. Dean is ambivalent about it but I was concerned about the amount of milk he was drinking. Dean was only consuming the minimum amount of milk and giving him a bottle twice a day ensured at least 16 ounces. We have now, thanks to Honey, found a sippy cup that works better than the ones we were using. Dean has gulped water and sucked down several glasses of milk today as opposed to his sipping from the previous cups. Such a big boy!
Selfishly, I enjoy the time Dean and I spend when he drinks his evening bottle. He is such a good cuddler. I’m hoping that we’ll still have cuddle even though there isn’t a bottle.
Dean’s stats:
25 pounds 9 ounces – 50-75%
31.25 inches – 50-75%
Head-18.25 – 25%
