Dean Thomas Hopkins is 4 months old today! Unfortunately, he’s a little under the weather and hasn’t felt like celebrating. The 3rd month of Dean’s life brought illness. He has been sick since he turned 3 months old with ear infections, an upper respiratory infection and bronchiolitis! Whew, what a month. But, despite the illness Dean continues to chat away, smiling his way into our hearts. Dean is working hard trying to roll over and has a serious drooling habit now. These past 4 months with Dean have been an amazing ride. Matt and I don’t know what we would do without him!
We will update the blog with more 4 month pictures soon. But for now a walk through memory lane..

And our 4 month photo with Phil. Phil is helping keep Dean well by checking his temperature. Such a helpful frog!
We were up REALLY REALLY early this morning and Dean was VERY VERY chatty. I managed to catch his early bird excitement on video. Honey, Pops, Grandmother and Papa he’s talking to you!
Dean is usually super tired in the afternoons when I get him home from school. I try to keep him awake until we get inside so he can sleep in his bed instead of the car seat. I lost the battle today. Poor guy, he just couldn’t stay awake any longer.
Well, sorta solid… Dean Thomas has now had his first taste. Matt and I have started to feed him a bit of rice cereal in the evenings. Dean isn’t really sure what he thinks of the cereal or the new method of delivery but we keep trying each night. I know he will be eating everything in sight soon enough, so we are working hard to treasure every minute of this learning process.
Dean is getting heavier…almost 14 pounds! I know this doesn’t sound like much but it really takes its toll when he’s in the car seat. Here is what my arm looked like after hauling Dean around last night. Another war wound for my motherhood collection.
I guess I better start working out more so I don’t have to hang the car seat off my arm but can carry it out to the side.
