Dean is 3 months old today! Matt and I have seen so many changes in Dean in the past few weeks. We are having a blast talking to and playing with him. Dean is a super happy boy, constantly smiling at us and talking to us. He is becoming more independent in his play and is really enjoying his activity mat. He loves to look at the bright colors and zany animals. We are working on self soothing and entertainment but we still LOVE to cuddle with Dean.
On the clothing front (hint, hint Aunt Genie) Dean is growing out of his 0-3 month clothes but only because he is so long! This morning his jacket looked more like a crop top than a shirt. The 0-3 are almost too small but the 3-6 month clothes are still too big. We’re going to have to get a little creative with his dress until he fills out enough to hold his pants up! Anyone know where I can get a baby belt?

I often wonder about the father/son activities that take place on Fridays while Matt is home with Dean. I sit at work and imagine what they are doing and how they playing. I also imagine that Matt does everything for Dean exactly the way I do. Well, I have learned that all is not as I thought. When downloading Dean’s 3 month pictures from Matt’s camera I came across this!

This past weekend Matt, Dean and I made an impromptu trip to the lake. After a crazy, busy week I really wanted to get away and relax. Matt and I felt that the lake house was the ideal place for a weekend of rest. We decided to leave town at 5:00 Friday afternoon and were packed and working our way down the road by 6:15PM. I was impressed we were able to get everything packed up so quickly.
The lake was exactly what the doctor ordered. We had a great time resting and we managed to have a fair amount of fun too. Layne came up with Logan and Morgan for the afternoon, our neighbor Julie came by with her boys Jake and Zane, and we ate at Livingston’s finest restaurant, Florida’s Kitchen. I am already looking forward to our next trip to paradise. It can’t come soon enough.
It’s registration season at CHHS which means a few late nights for me. This past Monday Dean experienced his first baby sitter! One of my co-workers, Glenda, was sweet enough to come over and play with Dean while I was at 8th grade parents night. I asked her to take pictures of all the fun they had but, Dean decided a good nap was all he needed. Thanks again Glenda for watching Dean. He can’t wait to play again.
