Here’s the video from what should be Baby Hop’s final sonogram.
It’s the full recording, 6 minutes long, so you may not want to watch the entire thing as he/she opted not to do cartwheels for the camera. Lindsey assures me he/she does plenty of them when nobody else is watching.
Oh, and the tech assured us she kept any secrets off the recording, so if you think you see something that indicates BH’s gender, you are mistaken. (c;
I found this nifty little app today that takes your photos and gives a Polaroid look to them. I had a good time going through some recent photos of ours and Adam and Genie’s to find some that I thought would make nice faux-Polariods.
Each day I get an email with pregnancy information. About 90% of the time they are great emails and I learn a ton from them. I had to share today’s email. I mean seriously! Do you really think that making my hair bigger is going to help take away from the puffiness of my face? Who’s actually looking at my face when I have this nice big round belly, sausage fingers, or fankels to look at? Let’s get real! I thought it was funny and had to share the amazing lengths pregnant women will go to in efforts to look their best! Enjoy.
“Has pregnancy weight found its way to your face? Of course it has. A great way to achieve that elusive illusion of slimness is to start with your hair. Up-dos create a slimming effect by giving you instant height, so pull your hair into a high ponytail or simply twist your locks into a high knot and fasten with a barrette. Another way to add height to your look — while subtracting width from your face: Use a volumizing gel at the roots of your hair and then blowdry, lifting the roots with a brush as you go. Avoid middle parts, which round your face even more, opt for a side part instead — and steer clear of blunt bangs (have them cut into wispy lengths or angled for a slimmer look).”
Ok, so next time you see a large pregnant lady make sure to comment on how her hair has such a slimming effect on her face! Pul-eeze!!!!
Matt and I went for my 36 week update yesterday. We had an ultra sound and spoke with the doctor. All is good with Baby Hop. He/She – yep we still didn’t find out, is doing great. The ultra sound tech was able to see BH’s big cheeks (Emma’s gift to BH), luscious lips (yeah, I’m pretty sure Beyonce is in there somewhere) and hair -I asked if I should go out and buy some bows before she comes. It was amazing to see images of BH so close to his/her due date and to think we know a little more about that he/she looks like. BH is in the head down position and gearing up for his/her entrance into the world. Doc White estimates that it’ll be about 8.5 pounds give or take – I’m really hoping there isn’t a whole lot of giving going on. He didn’t provide us with any guesses on when we might be having a birthday party but Matt and I are happy to take full advantage of the rest and quiet nights until he/she gets here.
We will post video and pics soon. Stay tuned! Until then!
Ahhh, the signs of fall were all around this past weekend as North Texas was blessed with a cool front and beautiful blue skies. Matt and I spent Friday night at our first CHHS football game. We enjoyed all the festivities homecoming provided; there was a faculty tailgate before the game, plenty of mums and garters to gawk at, and a terrific football game to top off the entertainment.
On Saturday we took advantage of the weather and had some fun with Jiff at the park. I happily sat in my chair and watched my boys run around, it was so relaxing. Later that afternoon we went out to the Texas Sate Fair in Dallas. It was my first time there and we spent about 4 hours taking in the sights, sounds and smells of the event. We enjoyed hot and crispy corny dogs, the auto show, lots of people watching, a few fireworks and of course topped off the night with some funnel cake!
Sunday was equally as great. You know it’s fall in the Yeager house when the Kansas City vegetable soup is on the stove. Daddy would have been proud of this pot of wonderful goodness. Jiff decided he wanted to take a cooler road to the day and went for the ice. I had put a large mass of ice in his water bowl thinking it would melt for later but he had other plans. We are still cleaning up the water!
We’re already making plans for the next great fall weekend. Looks like it’ll be another CHHS football game as they play their rival Grapevine High. That should be a great game. We’re also talking about checking out the impressionists exhibit at the Kimball Art Museum here in Fort Worth. Matt and I are determined to enjoy every weekend until the baby comes, and of course plan to enjoy every weekend after the baby comes, just in a different way! Until then!
When Matt and I found out we were expecting we immediately auditioned for the Discovery Channel show “Make Room for Baby”. Well, we won! This past weekend our “crew” showed up to help us make room for BH and get our nursery decorated and ready. We were very pleased with our help (the Discovery network really hired quality assistants for us) and with the end result.
We are officially almost ready for BH to join our family. We’re getting more excited everyday and can’t wait to share the big news with you when he/she finally arrives! Until Then!
Matt and I headed home for the last time as a couple. Next time we venture to Houston we will be packin’ Baby Hop too! My sister Lesley threw me a WONDERFUL shower on Saturday morning. Everyone was so generous and I had an amazing time. Baby Hop received so many great items that he/she needs.
While the girls had their opportunity for fun on Saturday the boys made time for the Texans home opener on Sunday. Even though the end of the game was disappointing the boys still had a blast.
Matt and I enjoyed our trip home and can’t wait for December when we can bring Baby Hop to Humble. Until then!
