Under pressure
Our mission this weekend was to buy a crib. Matt and I have spent time looking for Baby Hops bed but hadn’t found the right one until yesterday. With 12 weeks to go Matt and I began to feel the pressure of making sure BH had a bed, since some cribs could take up to 12 weeks to order, and thought we should get hopping (no pun intended). I am very proud of our efforts and the fact that we managed to make our selection by the second store. They had the crib in stock, we were able to bring it home and can now breathe a sigh of relief that one more thing is accomplished on our list.
Next on our list registering…at the hospital, and for classes…whew, we have a lot to do before our little guy/gal comes to meet us. I toured the hospital during my last doctors visit and received the paperwork to register at the hospital, I will admit I was close to freaking out but didn’t. I really can’t believe we are already to the 3rd trimester, 26 weeks ago this day seemed so far away! The doctor gave me a great report but did mention that I shouldn’t expect to deliver a 7 pound baby. Evidently BH is on the big side and is something he’ll be monitoring during the upcoming visits. I’ll be anxious to see how much I grow before my next appointment in 3 weeks! I also learned that I get to go back on the yucky iron pills. Despite my best eating efforts I haven’t been able to keep enough iron in my blood to accommodate both the baby and I, oh well…I gave it my best shot, what do you do? At least BH and I will have plenty of energy for this last stretch of our race. Until Then!

Better up your fiber – those iron pills will constipate you! LOL!

We have an amazing crib. Grammy and Paw Paw kicked in and bought us the entire bedroom set. Luckily, it comes with a crib extender so the little turkey can sleep in it for years.
I want to suggest that you get a bassinet or at least borrow one. I don’t know many moms that are able from day one to leave the kid in the crib and go back to bed in the next room. Register for or by a fairly inexpensive one, since most babies grow out of it after a couple of months. It was just easier for me to have Casey by our bed in the little bassinet. Because Casey is so small, I slept her in her bassinet for like 4 months!
Just a suggestion…
Where did you register?
