It’s a Boy!!!

Matt and I were treated with a visit from his brother, Adam and Sister-in-law, Genie. They made the trek to Ft. Worth for a weekend of fun and family. A&G arrived late on Friday night and after sleeping in on Saturday morning we set out for Allen, TX. Allen is north of Dallas and was the home of the newest member of our family, Jiff.

Matt has longed for his own “man’s best friend” since we married. He has scouted our SPCA pages, stared longingly at others who are luckily enough to have a dog and quietly waited for his day. An opportunity became available for us to adopt a puppy earlier this month and Matt couldn’t resist. Jiff is a 8 week old Australian heeler. I’ll admit at first I was less than thrilled with the idea of bringing something else new into our ever changing family but I have grown to like the little guy and am glad that Matt has a new friend and I have a cuddle buddy, at least he’ll lick my super pudgy feet when I come home after a long day.

Adam, Genie, and Gunner were here to welcome Jiff into our family. I’m thankful that they were, Gunner is 3 years old but Adam and Genie were a huge asset in helping us get our house puppy proof. I’m thankful for all of their trips and tricks. On Saturday evening we went to the Ranger’s game and had a great time. It started raining at during the 7th inning and we managed to hang out until the 8th. It was a great game and fun to experience the ballpark with them.

Sunday lent itself to great Mexican food and fun at Pets Mart. We took Jiff and Gunner with us and bought the puppy essentials. We also had fun dressing Jiff up in a few Halloween costumes!

Matt and I were sad to see Adam and Genie leave on Sunday and can’t wait for the next time the visit. We were joking that the baby will probably be here when they come next, won’t that be exciting!!!

Clown Picture -BEST EVER! Welcome to the world of dogs, next thing you know you will be using the same voice you talk to your dog with – with your baby. It cannot be avoided so you might as well give in!
