The circle of Fab Four weddings is complete. Recently one of my best friends, Courtney married the love of her life Craig in South Ft. Worth. We are so happy for them and had a wonderful time participating in all the wedding fun. She is such a stud and worked on EVERYTHING for her wedding. She did all the flowers, the decorations, and her own hair!!! The wedding was beautiful and really showcased their love for one another. We are also thrilled to be living in the same town as C&C, Matt and I hope to make plans to hang out with them soon. Until then!
Matt and I have moved again! Matt has been such a trooper and commuted to Ft. Worth weekly for the past 7 months, it was time we made Ft. Worth our home. We once again loaded up all of our belongings, said good bye to our family and friends and set out for new adventures in a new town. I will be working as a high school counselor in nearby, Colleyville, and Matt will continue to work for NBC Artworks. We are already pleased with our new home and look forward to learning more about Bedford and the surrounding areas. More than anything, it’s nice to feel settled again, Matt and I have lived apart almost as much as we have lived together, we are both happy to wake up next to each other every morning and go to sleep near each other every night. I can’t wait to see what this next chapter brings for us.
Today I had the pleasure of spending the morning with Emma and Lesley. It was such a nice morning and I look forward to being able to spend the same amount of time with Emma and Lesley when they come visit us in Ft. Worth. Our day began with a trip to the neighborhood park where Emma, Lesley and I all took advantage of playing on the equipment. I even managed to fit my widening hips on the slide and take a ride with Emma. We ran, played and worked up a nice sweat. Lesley and I finally convinced Emma that she would have more fun at home in her nice, cool pool.
While swimming Emma graciously kept me cool by watering my feet, legs, shorts and any other area the water managed to land! A 2 year old doesn’t have the best aim when it comes to using a water hose. Emma and Darby played well together in the pool while Lesley and I discussed the most important aspects of interior design. After Emma and Darby’s fingers and paws were pruny we dried off and headed to Chick-fil-a for some lunch.
I take full responsibility for introducing Emma to the best fast food restaurant around. She loved the cows and the play structure. I think Lesley will be able to take her to chick-FUN-a for years to come. Really I just wanted a grilled chicken salad but masked it as the most entertaining place for a 2 year old. After all this playing Emma and Lesley headed home to take a nap and I happily went to my house for a equally needed nap. I have so much energy to gain before Baby Hop turns 2…does that come with the birth or do you have to perpetually fake it? Whew! Kids are fun!
“True friendships never die”; the Fab Four can certainly attest to this! Matt and I recently enjoyed a weekend at our lake house with 3 of my best friends. We have been best friends for over 18 years and make it a tradition to spend a weekend together once a quarter. Our summer meeting is usually deemed a family weekend where everyone brings their spouses and children.
We met on Friday night in Livingston, Texas and enjoyed a weekend of boating, jet skiing, eating and playing. It was so much fun to see everyone’s children and to allow our hubbies to spend some quality time together. By Sunday morning no one was ready to leave our relaxing haven at the lake but we all had to return to the real world. Thankfully we’ll be together again in 2 weeks for Courtney’s wedding.
