Where the Hopkins Family Shares Stuff
The Yeagers, Barrs, Hopkins, Medleys and Wards got together this year to celebrate Easter. It was a great day of wonderful food and candy, an Easter egg hunt, some NCAA basketball, a spoon full of cinnamon, throw in a birthday party and you get a nice relaxing day of family and friends.
This past weekend was a BIG work weekend for both sides of our family. Matt’s brother Adam was moving into a new house and needed out help. We had a fun helping Adam and Genie pack up their old apartment and move them into their new house. Their new place is so cute and will be a perfect space for them to start their life as a married couple. Matt and I are certainly jealous of the space that they have.
After helping A&G move we headed to the lake house to help my family paint. For Christmas my dad asked for labor, no gifts just our time. He decided this would be a great weekend to put a new coat of paint on the house. We arrived after the painting on Saturday but Matt was able to lend a hand on Sunday morning while I went home to teach Sunday school.
After the work was finished on Saturday we were also able to enjoy a ride on Papa’s new boat.  The boat is so nice and will be a great toy for the summer months. I was ready to jump in the lake over the weekend but the water was WAY too cold. We were able to ride on the boat with Layen, Amanda and Morgan. Morgan is becoming quite the daredevil on the water. She did not want anyone to hold on to her while she enjoyed her ride. Hummm, could be a problem this summer.
It was a busy weekend but we enjoyed spending some good quality time with our family!
Matt’s dad Ronny is a HUGE Arkansas Razorback fan but living in South Texas your don’t see too many people pulling for the Hogs. To help Ronny show his true Arkansas pride Matt found a Razorback car medallion for him. Now, wherever he goes all will know that Ronny is a fan of the Hogs. Whoo Pig!
We will all proudly root for those Hogs until they play the Aggies in August! It might be the game that divides the Hopkins family! Matt’s already feeling torn…Maroon vs. Red! Whoop?…whoo?…oh gosh…it’s gonna be fun!
Our quarterly girls weekend was held in Ft. Worth this time. Myra, Crystal, Courtney and I had a fabulous time catching up and spending some great quality time together. The weekend began with a late night snack supper of chips and queso (a girls weekend must) followed up with hours of talking. On Saturday morning we set out shopping when the sun came up and didn’t stop until it went down. We all scooped up major deals and managed to fill the trunk of Courtney’s car with bag after bag. I hadn’t been shopping all day in so long…it was great! The highlight of our Saturday shopping trip was watching Courtney try on wedding dressings for her June wedding. It was so much fun to see her in so many beautiful gowns. We all can’t wait for their nuptials. Girls weekend was just what I needed, it was so nice to see my friends and enjoy a relaxing weekend together. I can’t wait for the next girls time…camping!!
