Ski Week in Texas!

Ski Week in Texas!

For an early birthday present my parents bought Matt and I tickets to come to Texas for the week. Piedmont has a February ski break and we decided to take advantage of the great skiing in South Texas! Matt and I arrived home on Saturday and stayed through the middle of the week. We enjoyed spending time with our families and seeing friends. Morgan and Emma are growing so fast, Matt and I wanted to make sure we spent time helping them remember who their favorite Aunt and Uncle are. Last October one of my best friends, Myra, gave birth to a beautiful little girl. Matt and I were able to make a special trip to Brenham to meet Morgandy. The same day we were able to swing by and see the McReynold’s family. Andrew was delighted to have Matt play in his room and sing along while he played his guitar. Later in the week I visited Whispering Pines and saw all of my old teaching friends. It was nice to be back in the Lone Star state. Matt and I are planning to stay put in the Bay Area for the spring. Our next trip home won’t be until late May or early June in time to see our new nephew! Until then.

5 Years and Counting

Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day holds a special place in Matt and my relationship; 5 years ago on this day he asked me to be his girlfriend! We enjoyed sharing our tokens of love and memories of our relationship with one another all day long. Matt surprised me with roses at work and my high school students loved hearing the story of how Mr. Hopkins asked me out. Matt had class on Valentine’s night but I was able to surprise him with a special dinner during his one hour break from school. We are more in love today than we were 5 years ago and look forward to celebrating the anniversary of the day we starting dating for the rest of our lives.

PHS parties…see ya later for Anne

Diane, Anne and Kendra

Last week my aide, Chris and I got our special education department and the counseling staff together for a small party. One of the special education team members, Anne, is taking a leave of absence this semester to have double knee replacement surgery! We enjoyed an evening of wonderful food and fun roasting Anne before she left us for the semester.
