Hand Drawn Morphing

Posted in Design Work, Videos at 8:03 pm by mathagat

In our Motion Graphics I class we were told to draw a simple picture somehow representing ourselves with full freedom of interpretation. We then photo copied that image and handed it to the person sitting next to us. Those two images became frame 1 and frame 60, and we had to draw frames 2-58 to create some sort of morph between the 2 images we started with. Each person ended up with a 2 second animation that we combined together to create one piece. This assignment was based off a game called Exquisite Corpse which has its place in art history and has been interpreted in many different ways. For example, see Psst! Pass it on… for a motion graphics version of the game.

THAT is pretty darn cool, Matt. Wow! It reminds me of Pink Floyd’s The Wall and the elephant scene in Dumbo. Very neat!:) My friend Tara and her hubby will be moving out there right by yall (Tara works with your mom) and her hubby will be attending the same school! Small world huh?
Hope yall have an awesome Christmas!
